Grilled Cheese…No… It’s Dessert

Today is grilled cheese day … yeah!

I love grilled cheese sandwiches …sometimes I add sliced tomatoes.

Today I made a fake “grilled cheese” for you …

image

Grilled pound cake for the bread, strawberries instead of tomatoes and cream cheese icing that is cheese colored!

This is what you will need …

  • Pound cake
  • cream cheese icing
  • Strawberries
  • Yellow & orange food coloring
  • A little butter

First make the icing cheese colored by making it yellow, then add a drop or so of orange. Β Then put the icing in a pastry bag or zip top bag (cut a corner off)

Slice the pound cake about 1/2 inch thick, spread a little butter on one side of each slice and grill in a skillet …

Assemble the sandwich by using one slice (grilled side down), add strawberry halves, squeeze icing so that it will ooze over the edges, add top slice of grilled cake …

So, would you like a grilled cheese for dessert?

i made this in the afternoon and put it in the fridge … son #1 and the hubby asked me if I put a grilled cheese sandwich in the fridge … They made me laugh πŸ˜‰

  1. You are way too clever! I get such a kick out of all your creations!! I had heard it was Grilled Cheese Day – who knew we had such a thing?! Is there a day for chocolate besides Valentine’s Halloween and Christmas (fudge)?
