Are they strawberries … or marshmallows? The correct answer is both … they are strawberry flavored marshmallows … in the shape of hearts, of course … just in time for Valentine’s Day!
This what you will need …
- Heart Mallows (I found them at Target)
- Lollipop sticks
- Green candy that can be used for stems
- Green candy melts
- Candy melts (whatever flavor or color you desire). About 1-2 pounds should cover the entire bag of marshmallows.
Let’s make the strawberries first. Make a hole in the top of the heart … I used a lollipop stick … this will make it easy to insert the candy stem later …
Use a toothpick and little green chocolate to make a leaf around the hole in the marshmallow …
Insert the candy stem … the green chocolate will act as “glue” to hold the stem … set aside to let the chocolate harden up …
There is a reason that I made “long stem” strawberries … you now have something to hold while dipping the marshmallow in chocolate …
Lay it on waxed paper or parchment and drizzle with a contrasting color …
Now for something a little quicker … make some marshmallow pops …
Dip in chocolate … tap off excess chocolate and lay on waxed paper or parchment paper …
Drizzle with a contrasting color and pop in the fridge for a few minutes to harden up …

my gosh what a GREAT clever idea! When I look at a bag of marshies I just think YUM and then they sit in the cupboard longing to be made into cuteness!! They need YOU as a craft mom! HA!
Thank you for the compliment … but I believe that I have “marshmallow issues”. I go looking in stores for different shapes, flavors, etc. … and feel compelled to buy them. They may sit in my cupboard a while before an idea comes to mind

This and the sweetheart conversation marshmallow ideas are the absolute cutest thing I have ever seen!!! I cannot wait to try this out… I know you said Winco, Target and Walmart have helped you out, but I cannot seem to find them anywhere! (Searches come up empty on google!) HELP! =)
I have the same issues when searching online … I found small ones on Amazon. Kraft does have a search by zipcode on their site. If you live near a Winco or Walmart give them a try. Also, there are many recipes available to make your own marshmallows if you are adventurous
