Are they strawberries … or marshmallows? The correct answer is both … they are strawberry flavored marshmallows … in the shape of hearts, of course … just in time for Valentine’s Day!
This what you will need …
- Heart Mallows (I found them at Target)
- Lollipop sticks
- Green candy that can be used for stems
- Green candy melts
- Candy melts (whatever flavor or color you desire). About 1-2 pounds should cover the entire bag of marshmallows.
Let’s make the strawberries first. Make a hole in the top of the heart … I used a lollipop stick … this will make it easy to insert the candy stem later …
Use a toothpick and little green chocolate to make a leaf around the hole in the marshmallow …
Insert the candy stem … the green chocolate will act as “glue” to hold the stem … set aside to let the chocolate harden up …
There is a reason that I made “long stem” strawberries … you now have something to hold while dipping the marshmallow in chocolate …
Lay it on waxed paper or parchment and drizzle with a contrasting color …
Now for something a little quicker … make some marshmallow pops …
Dip in chocolate … tap off excess chocolate and lay on waxed paper or parchment paper …
Drizzle with a contrasting color and pop in the fridge for a few minutes to harden up …
Here are a few more pics …
Sooo easy and fun 🙂
my gosh what a GREAT clever idea! When I look at a bag of marshies I just think YUM and then they sit in the cupboard longing to be made into cuteness!! They need YOU as a craft mom! HA!
Thank you for the compliment … but I believe that I have “marshmallow issues”. I go looking in stores for different shapes, flavors, etc. … and feel compelled to buy them. They may sit in my cupboard a while before an idea comes to mind 🙂
These look Awesome and so easy peasy. I love using marshmallows for fondue.
They are good anytime day or night
Easy peasy is right up my alley 😉
Perfect timing as Valentines day is right around the corner. These are adorable. Bam
February is right around the corner!
This and the sweetheart conversation marshmallow ideas are the absolute cutest thing I have ever seen!!! I cannot wait to try this out… I know you said Winco, Target and Walmart have helped you out, but I cannot seem to find them anywhere! (Searches come up empty on google!) HELP! =)
I have the same issues when searching online … I found small ones on Amazon. Kraft does have a search by zipcode on their site. If you live near a Winco or Walmart give them a try. Also, there are many recipes available to make your own marshmallows if you are adventurous 🙂
wow how creative. looks delicious!
Soooo easy too 😉
