How do you go grocery shopping … alone … with kiddos, friends or your spouse? Do you shop at Costco, Sam Club or stick to smaller stores? I usually go shopping alone and love it if someone is home to help me unload. Sometimes the hubby comes along to Costco, which is nice, but we usually spend more money … are you with me? You know the movie Up and the dog that gets distracted when he hears the word squirrel? I won’t name names, but I know the same thing happens to certain people when they hear the word samples! Recently, the hubby joined me … helped me shop for blogging supplies and groceries too. Today, we have Bunny Tail and Trail Snack Mix.
If you know my hubby, aka The Peanut Butter Man, you won’t be surprised to learn that those puffy pretzels have peanut butter in them.
Snack mixes have got to be the easiest thing to throw together in a hurry … buy the ingredients … open the containers … mix everything together … scoop into individual bags, bowls or the cute little carrot dish that found in the attic and had forgotten that you owned!
This is what I used …
- 5 cups Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels
- 1 bag Annie’s Bunny Grahams (Honey flavored – 8 ounces)
- 1 bag plain M&M’s in Easter colors (11 ounces)
- 1 cup Jet Puffed Mallow Bits
- 3/4 cup Crisp Chocolate Pearls (such as Callebaut or Valrhona) or substitute Raisinets
This Bunny Mix was truly a family affair … hubby picked out the huge container of pretzels (only used about one-third of it) … I decided on Raisinets … then Son #2 felt obligated to explain to me that Raisinets were not a good choice because he doesn’t like them and they are the wrong size proportion for my idea … that’s when I found the Crisp Chocolate Pearls in my stash!
Let me explain my idea of the name “Bunny Tail and Trail Snack Mix”. We have had a few pet rabbits in the past … only one at a time … each had a litter box in their cage. When I cleaned the cage, the rabbit was allowed to hop around the house and occasionally would leave me a “trail” … do you see where I’m going with this? What can I say … when you live with four males long enough …! So, if you don’t have chocolate pearls … use Raisinets!
Son #3 had to put in his 2¢ … he thinks this snack mix is the best! Personally, I like his input 😉
“bunny trail!” I love it! hahaha!

Oh yes – we know what the real bunny trail looks like 🙂 Input from the whole family made for a fun and very Eastery mix. Sure – you had to leave the mallowbits right next to the bunny cookies (in the photo) so I immed. thought – attach the mallowbits to the bunnies. HA Yah – like who has that much free time? HA

Absolutely not 🙂 Those bunnies are small. Just thought I’d throw the “attach the mallobits to the bunny butts” to see if you were reading all your comments. HAHAHAHAHA I love your site and all your wonderful ideas – you HAVE to know that 🙂 Found the bunnies last year at Target.
