This year we will have Thanksgiving dinner at home for the first time in quite a few years.  Yesterday the hubby decided that he will cook the turkey on the barbecue and he has done a great job in the past.  I am thankful that he decided to take that task … too many other things for me to do!

Will you be staying home or traveling?  Do you have all of your plans made?  There are lots of decisions to make … pies to bake … turkeys to stuff!

Today I am sharing a very easy craft that can be done by you before hand or it could be a children’s activity  on Thanksgiving Day.  I was at Cost Plus World Market and saw the sweetest chocolate turkeys wrapped in colorful foil … wouldn’t it be nice to have one at each place setting at Thanksgiving Dinner?  Yes, I think so … but what should I do with them?  I remembered that I had bought chalkboard paper from the scrapbook section at Michael’s.  The project was coming together in my head … maybe place cards.  A few days later, Sweet Works was kind and sent me a few chocolate turkeys!   Then the idea came together and ready for me to get to work!

This is what you will need for this easy project … so easy that children can do it or help out …

• Foil wrapped chocolate turkeys
• Chalkboard paper
• Chalk
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Leaf pattern – I happened to have a cookie cutter that worked great (change out whatever shape you want)

Work on the backside (wrong side) of the chalkboard paper so that any unwanted pencil marks won’t show.  Use the pencil to trace the leaf shape and cut out with scissors.

Place a chalkboard leaf, piece of chalk and a chocolate turkey at each place setting.  Let each person write what they are thankful for on the chalkboard leaf!
