Today would have been Julia Child’s 100th Birthday!

I remember watching her on TV …

In my eyes she was more than great chef … she was an entertainer!

She always made me smile 🙂

I do not own any of her cookbooks … it’s probably a little silly … but I feel like it’s “too fancy” for me. Someday I will get the courage to buy one and actually use it.

But, I do have a Julia Child Rose bush …

I was reading a description of this rose … it listed the color as butter-gold … I thought, how appropriate … butter 😉

I love the fact that this rose has a wonderful sweet fragrance and is such a bright yellow … it makes me smile!

This hearty bush came from Rose Story Farm … I was lucky enough to visit several years ago. Julia lived nearby, was friends with the owners and visited many times. If you ever have the opportunity to visit Carpenteria, California … I recommend touring this rose farm. I’ll be visiting again in September and hope to get another bush 🙂
