Just sharing a sweet money-saving tip … no sugar involved …
Have you ever bought spreadable butter … the kind that is usually a butter and canola oil blend?
I have looked at spreadable butter … but never purchased it.
The prices that I have seen are usually $2.50 – $3.00 for an eight ounce package … I’m cheap 😉
A friend told me how to make my own for a lot less money … thank you, Gwen 🙂
All you need is butter and canola oil … what could be easier?
This is all you need …
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick) – softened
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- A container to hold the finished product (a little larger than 1 cup)
First, whip the butter … I usually use my hand-held mixer …
Next, add the canola oil …
And beat until smooth …
Pour into your container and store in the refrigerator …
You now have spreadable butter … straight out of the fridge. We use this spread as a substitute for butter on bread and some cooking … you get the taste of butter and less saturated fat.
I have not used it in place of butter for baking yet … have you? I’m interested in feedback!
